Marvel movies like 'Captain Marvel' and 'Iron Man' will be available for streaming on Disney Plus

There's good news for Marvel fans. Even though the fate of characters like Black Widow and Iron Man may be regretable, they still appear in beloved movies like Iron Man and Avengers: Age of Ultron, both of which will be available for streaming on Disney's subscription service, Disney Plus.

This streaming service will hold movies produced by Pixar, Disney, Lucasfilm, National Geographic, and, of course, Marvel. The Marvel movies to be available on Disney Plus at its launch date include Iron Man, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man, Thor: Dark World, and Captain Marvel. However, two movies that do not appear on Disney Plus' Day-One Library are Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

'Spider-Man: Far From Home' will not be available on Netflix or Disney Plus — not yet, anyway

Just because this movie is not available at the platform's launch date, does not mean it will not appear within the coming months. Marvel's blockbuster, Avengers: Endgame, will be available on Disney Plus in December 2019, about a month after the streaming service's launch date. That led some fans to believe movies that were released later in 2019 will gradually be available on Disney Plus.

What's On Disney Plus notes, "this year's previously released movies does give us a bit of a guideline. Dumbo and Captain Marvel were both released in cinemas [during] March 2019 and will be available on Disney+ at launch on Nov. 12. Avengers: Endgame has been announced as a Disney+ release on Dec. 11, 2019."

Presumably, movies like Spider-Man Far From Home and Captain Marvel will never make their Netflix debut. However, other Marvel movies are still available on Netflix for a limited time. That includes Ant-Man and The Wasp, Avengers: Infinity War and Thor: Ragnarok.

What Marvel movies will be available on Disney Plus at its launch date?

Fans haven't seen the last of Spider-Man in the MCU. After disputes between Disney and Sony, it was decided that the character would remain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There's no word regarding when or how the third Spider-Man movie will premiere. However, there are multiple Marvel television shows to be available on Disney Plus.

Of the television shows listed, exclusive series' like Loki, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and WandaVision will appear on Disney Plus within the upcoming years. Presumably, none of these shows will be available on other streaming platforms, such as Netflix.

Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home are available for purchase digitally and physically. Disney Plus premieres in the United States on Nov. 12, 2019.
